About Me

My photo
Mike and I got married on January 3, 2008 in the Salt Lake City Temple. We met December 31, 2003 on New Years Eve, after his best friend invited him to a party. It was nearing midnight, and I had never kissed someone before on New Years Eve. He was sitting there all alone, in his University of Utah sweatshirt, and his Grizzlies backwards baseball cap, and he looked pretty cute. I asked him, "Hey, would you like to kiss at midnight?" He looked confused... Then he finally said, "Sure." I went over to him, and gave him a little peck (which apparently did not reach his lips, more like his chin...) and that was the start of it! We have a beautiful boy, Aiden, who will be two years old in June, and he is the joy of both our lives! We are both working, and we are currently living in Lehi, UT.We are a happy family and love doing things together.

Book Review- The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society

When I was over at my mom's this Sunday doing laundry, she recommended that I read this book that she read for her book club. She said that it could probably make the list for her top 10 favorite books she has ever read! I thought with that kind of recommendation, I couldn't go wrong! Now I wouldn't say this would be in my top 10, but it was definitely fun to read and was a wonderful story. It's all written in letter form, with letters going back and forth between characters in the story. It takes place after World War II and is about a writer, Juliet who is written by a man in Guernsey (an island near England) who was intrigued by her books and articles that she had written. He tells her about the society that he ended up being a part of during the war to help them cope with what was going around them while the Germans occupied their home. She ends up getting all kinds of stories of these people's lives and decides to write a book about it. The people of Guernsey end up changing her life for good! The characters are wonderfully written, and there is a love story between a couple of the characters that always helps me turn the pages. You do get emotionally involved with the characters which is always nice, rather than not connecting with them in any way. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who would be interested in this delightful novel.
